Distribution

Definition

A general term for any payment a fund or BDC makes to shareholders. Kept apart from "dividend" because the payment may include return of capital or option premium, not only earnings.

On a live record

SPYI (Neos S&P 500(R) High Income ETF) pays its distribution monthly; the last twelve months of payments work out to 11.91% of today's price. Open the SPYI record.
